LAND

Elphinstone
Land Ltd, a 50/50 joint venture between the directors of Elphinstone and
Bank of Scotland, was created to identify and acquire strategic land
sites. Since its
formation in 2002, Elphinstone
Land
has accumulated a land-bank extending to over 900 acres, a
substantial proportion of which has planning consent or is zoned
for residential or commercial development.
During
the last year,
Elphinstone Land has sold two sites, 125 acres at Slackbuie in Inverness
and 25 acres at Deaconsbank in
Glasgow. In the same period, Elphinstone Land acquired 46 acres of land at Baillieston and
interest in a site at Clarkston in Glasgow,
and Strathaven in Lanarkshire.

company’s current activities include the following:
As
part of a consortium, Elphinstone
Land
is involved in the development of 119 acres at Greenlaw, Newton Mearns,
Glasgow. Subject to detailed planning, this will comprise 350 homes,
including affordable housing, business park, hotel, neighbourhood shopping
centre and land for a school.

Scottish Exhibition Centre Ltd has
appointed
Elphinstone
Land as
the preferred developer of a site on the banks
of the River Clyde, an initiative that will provide £50 million to build a new
Arena for Glasgow.
Elphinstone
Land
is planning to transform part of the 64-acre site into a £350 million
sustainable urban village providing homes for families, work/live
properties, serviced apartments and mainstream housing. The aim is to
create an urban village with a range of local services and facilities
including a primary school, nursery, restaurants, pubs, cafes,
mini-supermarket, chemist, doctor, dentist and much more.
